Probably the last render I'll ever do using Blender internal.
Edit: This is a pretty funny story. I uploaded this because I used this picture as part of a composite key for my master password database, which I uploaded elsewhere in preparation for the tornadoes that were coming through Oklahoma in May 2013 (date specified for future generations). This full size image, coupled with a few other files, protected the passwords to several hundred of my digital accounts.
The funny part is that, while this is my desktop (My current computer is named 'Wolvenmoon's Beta Lunar Catalyst), this was uploaded so that if my house was hit and demolished by a tornado, I wouldn't lose access to all of my online assets. It's since become one of the most popular submissions I've submitted!
So I'll give some background on this!
Way back in 2002, I used to run a gaming clan. The clan eventually folded - as most early teenage ventures do - and I was left with this logo
(which was commissioned from a then-pseudonymous friend named Jeff). I called it the Wolvenmoon, the rest is history.
The logo was originally in a raster format and the colors were blue, black, and white. I vectorized the logo using Blender 3D and bezier curves quite some time ago, and have changed it every time my desktop system significantly changes. The clouds behind it are a picture I took awhile ago, I shift the color values in the picture to make it fit the logo - the picture's actually available in my gallery somewhere.
So this is actually comprised of five completely flat models rendered in 3D space!
