So, the continuation of our story. The trip was a lot of fun. Eureka Springs, Arkansas is a unique place. There are a ton of artists, some 'artistes', street musicians, it's just an awesome place for, as my mom put it, "people who exist a little bit differently in this world."
That's actually where [link]
this remarkably stereotypical image came from!
Once we got there I was more interested in exploring than taking pictures. Plus I didn't have my tripod, so I don't have many good pictures from there. Next time I go - I'll see about getting pictures of the city.
Anyway, we went to one of the nearby rivers, was in Missouri. We were about to wade in when a few bolts of lightning told us we might want to formulate a better plan. We explored for a bit - walked up the river, found a trout farm - and then it started pouring down rain.
We started the drive back home, and came by this spot again. This was taken while it was pouring down rain - my mom holding the umbrella over my head so we didn't ruin our fairly expensive camera.
